This tradition can take place continuously because Betawi people in Cengkareng located on the outskirts of Jakarta, so it does not experience the direct impact of modernization. The large population of Betawi people, the absence "story" of evictions, and crystallization Betawi in pesantren area, are a supporting factor why this culture still survives.
Nowadays Betawi Cengkareng is facing the temptation of modernization through the development of apartments and modern residential around it. Hopefully, this temptation will not destroy Batavian Eid culture as the only tradition that still survives. If this culture was lost, then the tradition narrative of Betawi ethnic will lose. It is not impossible, if one by one the tradition narrative was missing, then the tradition just being a mere historical narrative.
